The kids came home today and were bursting with excitement.
They were dying to tell me about the awards they got at school today.
Ethan got a Star Reader award for being the top reader in his class.
Kalin got a Star Reader award for being the top reader in the 2nd grade.
Believe me, they did A LOT of reading!
Ethan & Kalin wrote & illustrated this book together and they won an award for it.
Their book was titled "Fred the Giant Squid".
Kalin got a Star Author award for writing and Ethan a Star Illustrator award for illustrating it.
I was so happy that they worked together and they were super duper excited for wining an award.
I'm so proud of my kids for loving reading and for using their creativity in writing their own story.

That's so fun that they worked together on their book. Dallin said something about Ethan getting a prize for illustation and now it makes sense. Great job reading!!
