Model Clay Fun

I had to buy model clay for a project Kalin had to do in her class this week & we had left overs.

The children got creative this week during spring break and this is what they created.

Ethan's squid Ethan's elephant, minus some legs that Lexi knocked off.
Kalin's ice cream cone.
Come cool color combining.
Kalin's octopus.
Kalin's portuguese man-o-war.
Kalin's Yoda.

I know you can't tell from this picture, but this guy is less than an inch big.

Lexi got to make a few things too, but nothing recognizable, except a ball which she bounced around the house and lost.

They had so much fun and they are all so creative.

This stuff is way cleaner than playdoh, so it was easier to let them play with and I didn't have to worry about too much of a mess.

Our Family Snowflake

I saw this craft on Vintage Wanna Bee blog and it looked like so much fun that I wanted to try this with the kids.

*Photo credit: Vintage Wanna Bee blog.

For FHE one night we decided to make this pinwheel snowflake.

My original idea was to each make one, but it soon became apparent that it wasn't that easy for the kids.

Cutting straight even lines was the hard part.

As you can tell in this picture :)

The girls quickly became frustrated.

Love this picture!

After help cutting, we were able to help them each complete a section of the snowflake.

Together we made one awesome snowflake. Teamwork!

Lexi's Preschool Crafts

Here are more pictures of kid crafts. Lexi made all these at preschool this year.
She had a great time at preschool this fall!

Turtle with texture. Lexi pretty much picked all this stuff off and we had to vacuum her bedroom :)

Mr Skeleton

This is what we do with all the crafts our children make in school and bring home--
we take pictures.

There is no way that we're going to be able to store all the many things they bring home. This way we have pictures of everything and we save a few things.
This was the cute skeleton Kalin made at school out of paper plates.
So cute! She insisted that I take a picture with this face she's making :)

Turkey Craft

I bought this craft from our local craft store a couple years ago and I kept forgetting every year to get them out for the kids to do.
This year I got them out and I kept telling the kids we were going to make them, but we kinda forgot.
Anyway, who says you can't make them after Thanksgiving?

Halloween 2010 Costumes

This year the kids wanted to be characters from Harry Potter.
Well, not all of them, but with all the sibling pressure and convincing, it was finally decided.

Meet Ginny Weasley, Harry Potter & Hermione Granger

Expelliarmus!

Immobulus!

Too cute for words!
Levicorpus!

She means business.
Off to trick-or-treat!

Some Craft projects I did this Christmas

I got this idea from our local craft store. I had my SIL make the vinyl and I bought the frames when they were 50% off. I think I spent less than $15 on the whole thing. Very happy about that!!

I got this idea last year at the same store as above. I bought the jars last year and had my same SIL make the vinyl. I thought they turned out pretty cute.
Fill them with candy and it's a great gift that can be re-filled :)

I made this wood sign at our church's super Saturday. They provided all the products and I just put it together. I added a layer of clear varnish to protect the vinyl.

I got this project at the same super Saturday and I made it at home. It's cool because you can change the paper out behind the clear plastic so you can change the look if you want. I think it will go great in my sister's kitchen. I also made another one of these for my other sister, but I forgot to take a picture of it. Maybe she'll send me one ;)
I love making projects and I would have made more, but I've got to keep my sanity during the holidays! It was fun to have these few to do.
