Consult Your 100 List: #7

SPT October Challenge:
Consult our 100 list. #7 on my list is "I fainted at the eye doctor".

This is one of my husband's favorite "me fainting" stories to tell because he was there. Okay, so my husband and I went to the eye doctor to have our yearly eye exam about 10 or 11 years ago. We were in two separate rooms and all of a sudden my husband hears a technician run out of the room calling the doctor. She's calling the doctor in a panic saying that a patient is having a seizure. My husband is hearing this and then realizes that I'm in the next room and he says "I think that's my wife." They all come running in and by then I think I came to.

First of all, you have to know that I faint when I get nervous and the lady was trying to have this machine touch my eye. This was not the puff of air that I can handle, but this thing that touches your eye. I had my forehead against a strap and I was supposed to sit still and let it touch my eye. I was supposed to not blink--yeah right. She kept having to do it over and over and I started to feel sick. I told her, I didn't feel well, so she had me lay in the patient chair and as soon as I got in the chair I fainted and started convulsing. It was obviously the first time she's ever had someone faint on her because she didn't know what to do, except freak out. That's what you get for trying to poke my eye! Needless to say, I didn't have to do that test anymore. Just give me my eyeglass prescription and I'll be on my way, thanks!

"Just sit still while I poke your eye. It will only be for a second, so don't blink!" Come on, that's an open invitation to blink and blink and blink and then faint!

This is not a picture of me, but this poor person is having their eye poked too. Sorry I didn't take my camera with me when I had my eye exam.

I couldn't find a single digital picture of me in my glasses. They must be pre digital camera. Well, here's a real close up, maybe here you can see my contacts!

I don't do well at the eye doctor either. That puff of air is crazy. I am just now getting okay with putting contacts IN but taking them OUT is a whole different story!! No fainting though, that is really bad.

I have never fainted, but being poked in the eye could probably cause it.

I hate that thing that puff air into your eyes. It is the anticipation of it that drives me crazy!
That is a funny story!

I have never fainted but it sounds interesting. I think I would have freaked too if they wanted to poke my eye. That is a funny story I got to say!

Sorry, but that is a very funny story. I hate the puff-in-the-eye test.
