Polynesian Entertainment

My sister had her wedding reception this past Saturday July 19th in Nampa, ID. It was a lot of fun. I took my camera on vacation without charging my battery, so I'll have to get more pictures from my siblings. This was the first time in quite a few years that all 9 of us siblings were together. Anyway, at any of our family weddings you are guaranteed to see some type of Polynesian entertainment...
This is my sister in the front and her dance group doing a Tahitian dance number. You know "shake shake" those hips! A lot harder than it looks!

These are all pictures of the "Haka". For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a Maori war dance. Who knows why we started doing these at all our weddings, but I think it's to scare the new "in-law" as they join our family. I think most of the "in-laws" were already scared when they first met all the brothers :) Notice now that all the previous brothers-in-laws are all part of the dance group!

Darren, the oldest Olayan boy who starts the chant and looses his voice for at least a week after!
Lex, the next oldest Olayan boy looking scary! (This is who we got Lexi's name from.)
Matthew doing his first Haka ever! We were so proud of him even when he forgot what came next :)
Caleb, another Olayan boy, of course screaming! I don't know if he'd appreciate that I got this "close-up"
Curtis, the baby Olayan of the family. Okay, so not much of a baby, but he's my mom's baby--the last of 9. He just happens to be the tallest of us all! Congrats Curtis, he just got engaged to Sadie that same weekend and they're getting married in November in Provo! Hopefully we'll all be together again in November!
I just love my family and I feel so grateful that I grew up in such a big family. I'm so glad that we're still all so close to each other and that we enjoy spending time together! (4am, 5am, 6am, ring any bells siblings?)

Love all the shots and I always enjoy the dancing at all the weddings. That is SO EXCITING that Curtis is getting married but I do have to say I am sad it is in Provo because I aways look forward to your family's weddings to see you all. AND HE IS THE LAST!! How crazy!!! Well looks like a ton of fun. Tell everyone congrats!

What fun! Way to go, Matt!

How come there are no pictures of you shaking your hips? :)
